Our regular season begins May 12, and wraps up at the end of August with a huge year-end tournament at Rambler Park.
Not very. We encourage sportsmanship first and foremost. Though a little competition is necessary for a good ball game, we still want everyone of all skillsets to feel comfortable coming to the diamonds. We are not a farm league for the MLB.
The day of the week will change each week, with teams playing a double header on their scheduled day.
May games will begin at 6:00 due to limited daylight.
June & July games will begin at 6:30.
August games will return to a 6:00 start due to limited daylight.
Absolutely! Teams are always in need of a substitute player. If you'd like, we can add your name and number to our subs list. Then when teams are short players, they'll give you a call and get you on a diamond.
Because we can't guarantee how often you'll get called to play, there is no fee to join our sub list.
Once you've decided that Regina Slopitch is the right fit for you, just send a message to the email at the top of this page and we'll get you all set up.
The teams must supply their own equipment. One exception to this is that Flow Electic has offered to supply home plates to each team for the 2024 season.
At the end of August, we will have an end of the year tournament on the nicest diamonds in the city out at Rambler Park. Refer to our Photo Gallery page to see some pictures from last years tournament.
The Casey Patterson Classic is our mid-season feature game where each team will nominate a player to compete in a division vs division exhibition game.
Although slopitch is an extremely easy going game, and more so just a reason to get out of the house and hang out with friends, we can't guarantee you won't get hurt. Regina Slopitch will do everything in our power to make the games as safe as possible through our rules and field maintenance. All players must sign a waiver before stepping on the field, and teams will be responsible for providing their own insurance if that's something they would like.
It honestly doesn't matter whether you spell it slopitch, slo-pitch, or slow pitch. We'd love to have you join our team either way.
